I’ve mentioned a few times that I love using doTERRA essential oils. I have to admit I was a big fat skeptic when I went to a local Introduction to Essential Oils class two years ago. But, when the instructor passed around a sample of doTERRA Deep Blue and I rubbed it onto my sore hip and felt immediate pain relief, I was no longer a skeptic. I started by ordering the Family Physician’s Kit. Over time I used every oil in that kit to my satisfaction, and began ordering more oils as time went on.
This week I was outside weeding and lost track of time. Of course, I hadn’t used sunscreen on my shoulders and ended up with a nasty sunburn.
I immediately reached for my Modern Essentials guide to essential oils book (affiliate link) and found this easy 2 ingredient recipe for Sunburn Relief Spray.
This summer, it’s a good idea to keep this bottle handy. Hopefully you won’t need it, but its cooling mist is soothing on sunburned skin.
2 Ingredient Sunburn Relief Spray
- Distilled water (I used spring water)
- doTerra Lavender Therapeutic Grade essential oil
Pour 4 ounces of water into a spray bottle. Dispense 10 drops of Lavender oil into the spray bottle.
Swirl the ingredients to mix. Spray onto your sunburned skin.
We just used this spray on my son and my niece while at the beach and they both reported instant relief from their sunburn symptoms. Hooray!
I wanted to let you know that although I love doTERRA oils, this will not become an “oil” blog. I’ll share my favorite recipes from time to time. But, the DIY tutorials will be my main focus. Happy Summer!
