Summer Tour of Homes – Welcome to My Home
Welcome, welcome! I’m so glad to see you made it. I hope you didn’t get lost.
Did you just get here fromĀ Angie’s house at the Country Chic Cottage? Her home is so cozy and beautiful (so make sure you didn’t miss her stop on the tour!)
I’m so glad to have you over for the 2013Ā Summer Tour of Homes.
It’s hot outside for sure.Ā These North Carolina summers are hot and humid.
Here’s a glass of sweet tea for you to cool off. Come on in and take a load off in our mudroom.
In fact, feel free to kick off your shoes and relax with me for the next few cyber minutes.Ā I’m not going to talk much, instead I’ll let you soak up the sights.Ā Feel free to ask your questions or leave a comment after you’re done.

I promised I wouldn’t talk much, but I have to tell you that this is our brand new kitchen!
It’s still not complete because I have to install the tile on the backsplash and the wall to the right of the sink. But, it’s a far cry from where our kitchen was several months ago after we had an unfortunate plumbing leak.
We truly made lemonade out of that big serving of wet, moldy, asbestos and termite damaged lemons!

You finish projects so quickly! Congratulations on your kitchen! You have wonderful ideas that I dream of implementing. Sooner than most may be the jewelry tree (how neat that it hangs the delicate necklaces AND has a bowl at the bottom to catch the small stuff?) and the fire pit. Love that! And it’s elegantly simple. I’m so glad you are blogging. Thanks for sharing your ideas and spreading inspirations!
I was trying to decide which room of yours was my favorite, the kitchen or the art studio. But then I saw the camping bedroom and then the back porch! Brittany, you have such a beautiful home with a comfortable feel. I like your decorating style and each of the many projects you’ve done to personalize each room. Thanks so much for the home tour. (I’ve finally decided, my favorite is the colorful porch!)
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, Brittany! So now I sound like Lawrence Welk, but honestly I just had to say it three times! You’ve done such an amazing job in so many ways. And it’s really exciting to see how your kitchen is shaping up. Good for you! I’m proud to know you!!
Girl that is a lot of pictures but I still wanted more! It’s too fabulous to stop looking. It feels like I have gotten to know you better, which I love. That sandwich and lemonade on the deck, it was for me right? So I will be enticed to come visit and stay a while? š Lisa~
Oh my gosh… what a photo bomb of amazingness! Your kitchen turned out sooooo charming! Love the farmhouse touches to the walls and lights. And that ART STUDIO. Giiiirllll… Also loving how your headboard appears to illuminate from the sun… what a cool effect! Gorgeous home, Brittany!
Everything is beautiful. You are very talented. Can you tell me the paint color you used in the downstairs powder room. It looks like what I’ve been looking for.
Thanks
Sue
Sue, thanks for your comment. I wish I had an exact match for you, but because it was a custom mix, here are the closest colors:
It is a cross between Sherwin Williams Rain SW6219 (too blue) and Quietude SW 6212 (too green). Or Sherwin Williams Aqua-Sphere SW 7613 but about 15% lighter.
I hope that helps!
Your kitchen? I die. But, your whole house leaves me speechless… oh my gravy!
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing home on the tour!
Wow!!! You have done a lot of work on your house Brittany. You should be so proud. Your kitchen is beautiful now that it is complete, as is the rest of your home. Way to go!
Brittany, I love your home and your new kitchen is fabulous. Love the cabinet color and those windows that open out over the sink. Your son’s camping room is over the top cute.
wow … i found myself smiling over and over as I wandered through your home this morning! warm and lovely and whimsical …
