Welcome Contributor – Cristina from Remodelando La Casa

I’m so excited to introduce another handy writer to you today! She’s a wife, a mom, and a secret DIY Superwoman! She knows how to tame any ugly cabinet or window in her home by wrapping it in beautiful custom molding and trim.

Please meet Cristina from Remodelando la Casa!

Cristina started her blog over a year ago after she took on a major project and lived to tell about it. She renovated her kitchen by herself! Going through the process myself, I can tell you that this is no easy feat. You won’t believe the before and after pictures:

Would you believe me if I told you that she didn’t replace the cabinets? Those are the same cabinets! She also came up with an ingenious solution for the shallow over the fridge cabinet. She bought an IKEA cabinet and created a custom built-in look with molding and a sheet of plywood.

Cristina claims to have had limited DIY skills when she took on her kitchen, but I think it’s all part of her Clark Kent disguise: mild mannered housewife on the exterior and Rockin’ Hard Core DIY Superwoman on the inside. I’m sure she drops off the kids at school in her nice presentable clothes and when she gets home she rips them off and underneath are her Superwoman dull house fighting clothes:

She looks from room to room until she finds the next boring offender, then she transforms a teenager’s bedroom into an out of this world teen dream spot:

Is there anything this woman can’t do? May I submit this as more evidence:

Yup, she can transform clearance target pillow covers into fabulous circle ruffled pillows with her invisible sewing machine (okay, so maybe it’s not invisible, but it’s like Wonder Woman’s invisible jet. You didn’t know she had it until they told you about it.)

Please raise your arms in the air to hail this super power.  I can’t wait to let Cristina take us on her wild DIY tutorial journey as she shows us how to transform the bland to beautiful! In the meantime, you can see where she’s worked her magic on her blog Remodelando la Casa.

  1. Great post Brittany! It’s good you have another inspiring writer in your team. I like Christina’s artistic designing skills. I love the way she renovated her kitchen. I wonder how much it cost her for that. Anyway, thanks for sharing! Keep posting some more. 😀

  2. Hola!

  3. This kitchen is almost identical to mine. Wow! I live in S. California. I want to add an island. Mine is a peninsula right now.
