Brooke - Killer B Designs

Brooke - Killer B Designs

I’d like to introduce our newest contributor, Brooke from Killer B Designs.  I’ve been a long time fan of Brooke’s blog. She has loads of talent and creative ideas to share with you.

Brooke has the skills and talent to make any builder jealous. She hand built most of the furniture in her home. Like this Restoration Hardware Knock Off Storage Bed based on Ana White’s plans.

She also has a wonderful love of color. Her pantry door is truly a show stopper!

But, her building tutorials are what you’ll really appreciate. From this adorable toddler work bench. . .

. . .to this Chunky X Base Farmhouse Table:

See what I mean? She’s talented! Check back in tomorrow to see the amazingly creative DIY project Brooke made just for you.

I am so excited to introduce another all star DIY educator to the Pretty Handy Girl team. Shara comes to us from the blog Woodshop Diaries (a DIY blog with a focus on DIY crafts, furniture building, and home improvement projects.) This rock star is an engineer by day and a DIYer every other chance she can get.  She lives in a small town in West Kentucky with her husband, Danny, her dog, Lucy, and their assortment of barn cats that accidentally became pets.

She and her husband fearlessly tacked a kitchen remodel in their “accidental fixer upper” two years ago. After that, she was hooked and started taking on more and more DIY projects.

With a limited number of rooms in their home, she began thinking of other projects besides remodels. Building furniture (like this coffee cabinet) was the next logical step. But, she also enjoys creating other fun crafts (like this Grinch pillow).

The Woodshop Diaries became her classroom for sharing tutorials for projects she has completed. Be sure to read more of Shara’s story here.

You’ll also want to find her on Facebook, Instagram, Google+, and Pinterest.

Stay tuned because Shara has a great farmhouse inspired tutorial for us tomorrow. I hope you’ll leave her lots of warm welcome comments!

Introducing Anika's DIY Life

I’m super thrilled to introduce Anika as our newest contributor on PrettyHandyGirl.com. Anika blogs at Anika’s DIY Life. I know you’re going to love Anika as much as I do. When I saw all the creative projects she’s worked on, I knew you’d want to meet her!

Anika lives in Southern California with her husband and two young children. She bounded into the DIY blog world with this DIY Kids Table and Chairs (way to make an entrance, Anika!)

Anika does not shy away from color (one of the many reasons I love her blog). Who else but a color-lover would build fun yellow nightstands for her master bedroom?

Speaking of color, I am head over heels for the fabric she used on this DIY ottoman. Want to make your own? Anika has the simple DIY plans for you to follow.

Is your mind blown yet? Well how about this sideboard made from an IKEA kitchen cabinet!

I’m telling you, you have to head over to Anika’s DIY Life to see all her amazing tutorials. She loves building furniture and creating easy and simple home décor projects. Plus, she has loads of home décor and organization tips for you on her blog.

Be sure to hook up with Anika on social media: PinterestFacebookInstagram, and Google+. And check back in tomorrow to see the amazingly creative DIY project she made just for you.

Hey Handy Readers, who could be more qualified to teach us some home repairs, improvements, and a few DIY projects than a handyman’s daughter? It is with great excitement that I’m introducing, Vineta (pronouced Vin-Net-Ta) from the blog,  The Handyman’s Daughter as our newest contributor! As you’ve probably guessed, Vineta’s father was a handyman. She was always underfoot when her father was working on a project and picked up his passion for fixing and improving things, but adds her own feminine twist.

Vinetta resides in Seattle, Washington, where she lives with her family in a 1946 Cape Cod style home. You must see some of the projects she’s completed in her adorable home, like the dated fireplace she renovated. Be sure to visit her blog to see what she started with!

She also gave her kitchen a facelift on a serious budget! You’ll never guess how she transformed the countertops! Seriously, you will never guess, so check out how she banished those 80’s blue formica countertops. Then come back and tell me if you guessed correctly.

Vineta also has amazing creative talent and uses it to indulge her kids and husband alike. Check out how she transformed an ordinary door into a Tardis Door for her husband, the Doctor Who fan. How cool is that?!

I can’t wait for you to see Vineta’s first tutorial tomorrow. I think you’re going to love it. In the meantime, please give Vineta a warm welcome and be sure to go find Vineta and The Handyman’s Daughter on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter.

I am so pleased to announce the addition of another talented contributor to PrettyHandyGirl.com! Please welcome the very talented Brittany Goldwyn.

Brittany is the creative brain behind by Brittany Goldwyn, a DIY, home, and garden blog. She will be bringing some fresh new DIY tutorials focused on home decor, furniture (building and makeovers), plants and gardening, and sewing projects.

I hope you’ll take a minute to welcome Brittany to the team and spend some time on her blog. Be sure to look for her two adorable kitties.
