Can I tell you about my dream home? Well, it would be in a gorgeous natural location with an amazing view out the back door:
And maybe a beautiful body of water nearby to witness jaw dropping sunsets.
And the house would be wrapped in windows…
…so that every room brought the outside in.
And there would be a long granite covered island that could seat the entire US ski and snowboard team!
And the attention to detail would be unsurpassed. (Love those exposed beams and patterned carriage bolts.)
I definitely found my dream home and it is located near Lake Tahoe. But, best of all, this house is available! And you could have it for your own by entering to win the 2014 HGTV Dream Home!
However, in order to get to this dream home 365 days of the year, you need a good vehicle. One with four wheel drive and enough horsepower to climb the snowy mountainous terrain.
And maybe some power seats that folded and lifted back up with the push of a button.
And just like the dream home, this SUV has attention to detail with stitched leather and beautiful wood accents:
So, how about if I told you that GMC will give you this swanky new ride, a 2015 GMC Yukon Denali with your dream home?!
What? You still aren’t convinced you want this home? Well how about if I take you inside for a special tour? Just you and me, okay. Try not to drool on the floors when your jaw drops.
Step inside the foyer.
From the foyer, you turn right to enter the kitchen/dining room.
I was fascinated by the eclectic mix of pendant lights over the dining room table.
The other end of the kitchen is open to the living room.
Back through the foyer, stop to glance out the window at the outdoor fireplace by the outside patio.
At the back of the house is the master suite with a modest-sized bedroom and bathroom.
With a sitting area and fireplace.
The master bathroom has two separate vanities. Check out those oversized lights.
An open glass enclosed shower is situated behind the tub.
Take your shoes off and feel the river rock floor. Ooooo, ahhhhh.
Back into the main hallway is a small powder room.
And a laundry room with a gorgeous under-mounted stainless steel sink in a granite countertop.
Let’s head upstairs! The open chunky wood steps fit right in with the rest of the home’s architecture.
Get an eyeful of these wire mesh railings.
To the right is the bunk bed room.
On the other end of the second floor is the family room.
I saved the best room for last. This is my bedroom should you win the house and invite me to stay (just sayin’.)
The guest bedroom truly charmed me the moment I walked in. It’s fairly small and cozy, but I don’t mind.
What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for with charm.
The attached bathroom is loaded with glam.
Again, that attention to details! Love the star accents set in the mirror.
If you saw anything you want to add to your home, this is the fact sheet for the 2014 HGTV Dream Home.
By the way, I’m totally scheming a way to DIY these fabulous candle holders:
Once you are moved into your new Dream Home, be sure to head over to Lake Tahoe for a picnic.
And stay for the sunset.
You won’t be disappointed!
A big thank you to GMC for providing travel, hotel accommodations, dining and the opportunity to tour the HGTV Dream Home 2014.
And a special thanks to HGTV and Scripps Network for letting me photograph the Dream Home to show my readers. Be sure to enter to win a new 2015 GMC Yukon Denali and the 2014 HGTV Dream Home today through February 14th, 2014!
P.s. I hope one of you wins my dream home so you can invite me out to visit it again ;-).
Disclosure: My travel, hotel accommodations and meals were provided by GMC. I was not told what to write or say about GMC or the HGTV Dream Home.
