$20K “Boost Your Roost” Contest for a Home Renovation from HouseLogic

OMG, OMG, I can hardly breathe! I ran over here to tell you some very exciting news!

Once in a while I am blown away by a contest that really appeals to my home improvement wishes and desires — an offer so tempting and generous that I can’t wait to share it with you. Well, this contest goes above and beyond that! Instead of being blown away, I’m perched on Mars after being rocketed out of my shoes!

HouseLogic, the website with free information and tools for home buyers, is offering one lucky homeowner the opportunity to boost their home value by giving $20,000 to take a home improvement renovation from dream to a reality! Let me re-iterate that for you:

That’s right, $20,000 smackeroos to hire a contractor to complete your own home improvement project! So pull your head back out of the clouds and listen up for how you can enter this fantastic once-in-a-lifetime contest.

The HouseLogic “Boost Your Roost” contest starts today and we’re looking for people that have some great reasons for improving their home. Do you have a project that will help you get more enjoyment out of your home? Whether it’s sprucing up your kitchen or building a patio for those summer cookouts, we want to take your dreams and make them come true.

Think hard about what you would do to your home with $20K? How about one of these renovations:

  • Laundry Room
  • Vaulted Ceiling
  • Shed
  • Backyard Office
  • Bump Out Bay Window
  • Screen Porch
  • Front Portico
  • Basement Finish Remodel
  • Mudroom Addition
  • Renovated Master Bathroom
  • Kitchen Remodel
  • Your Own Idea!

To enter the contest, send me an email to: PHG.BoostRoost (at) gmail.com with:

  • A description of a room or area of your home that you would renovate within a $20,000 budget.
  • Why is this home improvement so important to you?
  • And, how will it bring more enjoyment to you, your family and friends?

The description should be 300 words or less and include at least one photo (5 photos max). You can also include drawings or videos if you like!

I’ll pick the best submissions, which will then be one of six finalists to be voted on by the public to see who will win the $20,000 renovation.

So put on your thinking caps and let me know how you plan to “Boost Your Roost!” Get more details at houselogic.com/boostyourroost.

I’m crossing my fingers that you will be the lucky winner!

Disclosure: I am partnering with HouseLogic to promote and advertise the “Boost Your Roost” contest. This is a sponsored post that I chose to promote because I felt that it would be a potential benefit to my readers. I will help choose the finalists, but will not be voting on the ultimate winner.

  3. Um, holla! I could definitely use this for my kitchen reno! I WILL be participating! :)

  4. This is amazing… I wish it was for homebuilders… We are about to start that process as soon as we finalize our house plans, and it’s going to cost that much are more to make some handicap accessible improvements to the construction. But I’m going to be sharing this with my friends who would need a home improvement boost. ;-)

  5. Gah, would KILL for this! Ha. Our 100 year old bungalow has so many spots that could use this. When is the last day for emailing? Didn’t think I saw a date in there…

  6. Woohoo! – I just entered my mom’s kitchen! She NEEDS this makeover worse than anyone else I know. Poor thing has a 7 x 9 kitchen that only one person at a time can be in comfortably. Crossing my fingers that she wins this!

    Thanks for the opportunity.

What a wonderful opportunity! I posted my wish for a new family room and upgrade to our family room. We replaced the carpet – and removed the brick facade of the 1980s gas fireplace. Super ugly! We moved to this house so our teenage daughters would have space to bring their friends to our house instead of heading out the door all the time. Family time – that’s what we craved! Thanks for offering this!

Gosh! I think I’d be in heaven if I won. I live in beautiful Clearwater, Florida. Trust me, you can’t find a nicer place to live in the entire world! (a little biased perhaps). My villa was built in the mid 70′s and my kitchen has not been updated. I have those really cool, bulder grade cabinets which I painted (messed up) a few years. Didn’t complete the paint job because I realized they were messed up. I would love to invite family and friends for a meal but, somehow, I’m just too embarrassed at this point.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  9. question because I think I am going to enter this contest (trying to talk myself out of it because hello, it is summer and with all my kids home all day, I am working harder in the summer than the school year ). . but here is my question: I read the official rules and it looks like we can enter at each of the bloggers. So we can submit one entry at each blogger. Can we submit the same project or do we need to send an new porject to each blogger? Just wondering so I can up our chances of making it to the final rounds :) I think I am crazy.

  10. Elaine Saramago says:

I would love to win because my house is always in an evolution, my husband and I just completed our 25th anniversary and we are kind of broke to celebrate so I could use the 20000 to make our 100+ year old house shine a bit. We live in NJ and the cold is extreme in the winter and the summer is super hot and my front porche could use a makeover. We live in this house since 1993, we updated one room at a time. Funny and sad thing is when we are done with one room the other one is asking for an update. My husband was in 3 tours for the Army and we deserve the makeover. I see houses in different contests win make over when they are already good enough. We need the makeover and we deserve it, pretty please. This old house with a handy girl also.

  11. Oh how wonderful. I didn’t see a deadline, so I am hoping tomorrow works? Our eating-kitchen area is WAY to small for our family and it would be fairly simple to knock the wall out to expand the room an extra 10 feet and add a bar stool, change the countertops, paint the cabinets and add a lovely chandelier. It would cost roughly 10-20k depending on how much we did ourselves so this would be perfect and something we only dream about doing in another ten years!

  12. $20,000 would go towards getting my kitchen to full function. I currently have about a total of 4 full cabinets and a few drawers. The layout of my kitchen is small and odd. I have my dryer right next to my range!. I would like to expand my kitchen out to the dining area and leave enough room in my laundry area to put the dryer..The kitchen is a very important space for me and my family. The girls make tortillas with me and the limited counter space doesn’t allow us to cook together to often. It’s always been a dream of mine to have a larger more functioning kitchen with more space for the family…Your vote would be very much appreciated by me and my Family

    God Bless,
    Crystal

WOW! I am in the proccess of buying my first home since the CRASH 4 years ago. I have a 14 year old daughter that has had to go through a lot in the past 4 years. Her Father is a drug addict and I am raising her on my own. I work 4 (1 FULL time and 3 part-time) jobs so that she can play girl’s fast-pitch softball (her passion) and save $ for our own home. I am a manager of a cafe at our local college, I work on the side for a private chef, I cater on my own, and I also sell specialty muffins for diabetics at our local Farmer’s Market in season. My daughter has been a TROOPER through ALL of the moving (4x in 4 years), her Father’s issuesand not having him in her life anymore, and NEVER having a BEDROOM that she could decorate and make “hers”. She is an AWESOME kid with a BRIGHT future and I have worked really hard to FINALLY be able to purchase a HOME OF OUR OWN! We are SO EXCITED! We close in about 4 more weeks and what a TREAT it would be for her to have that AWESOME room that she has been waiting for! She is SO excited that she has already picked out a few different plans that she wants, the problem is….after I finish paying for the closing costs i don’t think that I will have enough money to hire someone to create this AWESOME room for this AMAZING child. I hope and PRAY that we could win this contest and what a GIFT that would be to her before she enters high school! THANK YOU!!!

  14. I’m not sure if an outdoor space qualifies but it would surely be the most “wanted” reno for my family. Our backyard is just this empty space that screams, PLEASE DRESS ME UP! I PIN and PIN on Pinterest; clip pics from the mags but never is there enough moolah to bring any of those dreamy ideas to life. I just know House Logic and “Boost Your Roost” could add a little magic to my tiny Cinderella-type abode, transforming it into a castle fit for a Princess…and her Prince (I suppose I will let he and the kids hang out there as well). Fantabulous give-a-away!

  15. Debra M. says:

I am going to be renovating and updating my bathroom soon.. I have purchased a bathtub, an undermount lavatory, faucet set, and the solid wood vanity..i still need to purchased many other parts to start the project, I’m trying hard to find the funds and the right products at the best prices..
